Having spent just a couple of years in the middle atlantic states, where there is a real Fall (leaves linger on in stunning technicolor for weeks), I miss this being back in the west. We have one color - gold, on our aspen trees,, come Fall. But the window is so narrow that the local news organizations make it a point to inform residents on a daily basis where they can drive to see glimpses of yellow, because if you miss the right weekend, it's all gone till next year.
