April, this is a very powerful piece. Have you submitted it for print publication? To newspapers or magazines? I hope you will.

Kudos for both a strident and compelling case against the chosen location for the 2014 Olympics and a viable solution. Too many others criticize without offering solutions.

Hi April,

Thank you for this topic and the great pictures.

We need the individual and collective will to change our ways.

If we don't change our ways lead to ecocide in the long haul .

Can we be wiser and avoid ecocide? Can we evolve?

Our brains are wired for short term survival and our habits and customs look no further than the short term.

It seems that people are incapable of properly taking care of the planet and ecology is not factored into all our actions,

I hope one day that world peoples and governments will be wiser and that ecological sense will be prudently applied to all mankind's endeavours and consequences.

Let's hope we can change the present and enable a better future.

"let’s keep our human activities out of some of the last truly unspoiled places on the planet"

Life is so important and we seem to take it for granted
